Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing (iPixel)

The Pixel CO2 laser is an effective procedure for the treatment of coarse wrinkles, fine lines, brown age spots, acne or traumatic scars, and other skin surface irregularities. The Pixel CO2 has the proven effectiveness of an ablative laser without the extended downtime or inherent risks. The Pixel CO2 laser system significantly improves the texture and tone of the skin in just one treatment with minimal downtime and fast healing.

What skin conditions will Pixel CO2 treat?
  • Wrinkles.

  • Fine lines.

  • Sunspots and age spots.

  • Skin texture irregularities.

  • Acne and traumatic scar reduction.

  • Precancerous lesions.

  • Photodamaged skin.

What are the benefits of Pixel CO2 laser skin resurfacing?

Results with the Pixel CO2 laser are typically quite dramatic - offering significant improvements in texture, tone, and overall appearance. Patients will often see marked reduction in fine and coarse lines, reduction of brown age spots, softening of coarse facial features, smoother tone, and a tighter appearance of the skin. Although individual results may vary, average patient improvements with this laser are usually considered quite profound.

Is treatment with the Pixel CO2 laser painful?

Patients are usually given a topical anesthetic cream to numb the area to be treated. This regimen allows for the treatment to be comfortable with as little discomfort as possible. With the new Pixel laser treatments are now even more comfortable and fast - an entire face can be treated in as little as 10-15 minutes.

How long is the recovery process from Pixel CO2 laser?

The recovery process from Pixel CO2 laser is dramatically less than that of traditional laser resurfacing with either a CO2 or erbium:YAG laser. Recovery with this laser usually takes about 5-7 days (although individual results will vary) and includes moderate redness, swelling, and crusting. It is also possible for some redness to persist for a slightly longer period of time as this is due to continued deep tissue repair.

It is an excellent treatment for premature aging which is a common disorder in Sunny countries due to the year round sun exposure & constant air conditioning. Most patients need between 2 to 4 sessions.

Will I have to take time off from work?

Most of the lasers used in rejuvenation cause only a day or two of redness. You can cover the redness with cosmetics, and our medical technicions will help you with that. (At EMC we have a wide range of Coverderm products for your convenience).

How long do skin improvements last?

Depending on how you take care of your skin, improvements last few years. It's important to protect yourself while in the sun, and to use quality skin care products to prolong and enhance your result.

Does laser rejuvenation improve the appearance of scars?

Absolutely! Laser rejuvenation works by remodeling and building up of collagen. Collagen is a naturally occurring substance that makes skin supple and provides support. Laser treatment flattens the scar and then collagen rebuilds in a healthy way.

Can you rejuvenate other areas of the body?

Yes, and this is where laser rejuvenation gets lovely. We have recently added the Affirm Laser technology to our wide range of Laser solutions at EMC. This Skin laser tightens skin wherever it droops and we use the Affirm Laser on hands to reduce lines and wrinkles, post operative scars and stretch marks.

Removal of unwanted hair is the second most popular cosmetic procedure in recent years for women as well as for an increasing number of men.

Studies show that for suitable candidates, hair removal lasers can reduce hair counts by 20 percent to 90 percent. Results vary from person to person, and some people respond better to treatment than others do.

How laser hair removal work?

Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses laser light — an intense, pulsating beam of light — to remove unwanted hair. Laser hair removal works by passing a light beam through the skin. The laser targets dark pigment, called melanin, in hair. When the light beam hits the hair follicle (where hair growth originates), the intense heat destroys the hair follicle instantly.

Where we can apply laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is used for people who want to remove unwanted body hair. Common treatment areas include legs, armpits, upper lip, chin and bikini line. However, it is possible to treat unwanted hair in almost any area of the body.

Although laser hair removal doesn't guarantee permanent hair removal, it does extend the hair-free period, which can vary from several months to many years. With multiple treatments, long-term hair removal is possible.

What do you expect During the procedure?

At EMC you will be asked to wear protective goggles When the laser is activated, you feel a stinging sensation. Oftentimes a topical local anesthetic is applied before the procedure to reduce discomfort. The procedure causes a slight charring of stubble. You also may notice some odor of singed hair, which is normal.

How long the procedure takes depends on the area of the body involved. A small area such as the upper lip may take several minutes. A larger area such as the back may require around one hour.

What do you expect after the treatment?

After laser hair removal, no medications or bandages are necessary. You may notice some redness and swelling for the first few hours. Also, stinging may occur for the first 24 to 48 hours. Some people experience a slight crusting of the skin. If crusting occurs, keep the area moist with petroleum jelly (Vaseline).

What are the Post treatment advices?
  • Avoid exercise and exertion for the first 24 hours. Perspiration from exertion may increase irritation caused by the laser.

  • Avoid exposure to the sun for several weeks after treatment. After this period, make certain you apply sunscreen whenever you're in the sun. Avoid tanning booths — the ultraviolet light damages the skin.

  • wax or pluck hairs for two weeks before treatments.

  • pick at or manipulate the skin in treated areas.

  • rub or scrub the treated area. You may gently wash the area with soap and water.

What are the Hair Removal Laser Side Effects?

At EMC our medical team will meet with you before the procedure and determine your treatment plan.

Complications from laser hair removal are rare and transet .And our team will talk to you about how these risks apply to you .

Side effects from laser hair removal include:
  • Incomplete hair removal or regrowth. Some hair may be resistant to the laser treatment or may regrow after treatment.

  • Darkening of the skin (hyperpigmentation). This is usually a temporary condition, but in rare instances, is long lasting or permanent.

  • Blistering and scarring. These rarely occur.

  • Crusting or scabbing. If this occurs, it's temporary.

  • Hair changes. New hair growth may be finer and lighter in color. In some cases, new hair may grow in areas adjacent to the treated areas. This can be successfully treated with additional laser treatments.

How much it Cost?

The cost depends on the number and size of the areas treated, and the time required for treatment.

The technique of removing varicose veins leads to direct and rapid results without the need for a long recovery period to disrupt the daily routine of the person and his lifestyle.

This technique treats red and blue veins in the face and legs. The method of acupuncture or surgical intervention is not used in this process.

How does laser vein removal work?

The laser produces a central light beam that is absorbed by the hemoglobin in the blood vessels, which destroys those vessels.

This technique does not lead to extensive injuries, as was the case with the old traditional methods. Because of the long wavelength of the laser beam, this beam is not absorbed by the skin, but goes directly to the vessels, which allows safe treatment of all skin types without exposure to burns or damage to the rest of the skin tissue.

How many treatment sessions are needed?

The number of sessions required varies depending on the type and size of the blood vessels, and often a significant improvement occurs after the first session of treatment. Additional treatment sessions are often required to achieve the desired full result.

Is the laser vein removal process painful?

Most patients feel simple and acceptable pain, and in some cases may not feel any pain at all. For patients with sensitive skin, a local anesthetic ointment can be used to relieve pain.

Will the process results continue permanently?

Yeah ! But if you have varicose veins regularly, these varices can appear in other untreated areas.

How many sessions are required?

It depends on the treated skin condition, but usually 3-4 sessions on monthly basis will be needed to provide significant results.

Is the procedure uncomfortable?

ScarLet is very well tolerated by most of the patients without any topical anesthesia. However, more sensitive individuals can apply a numbing cream for 30-60 min, which will make it painless.

What should I expect after treatment?

Immediately after the procedure there will be slight redness and possibly minimal swelling – all of which should resolve within minutes to hours. The treatment will be finalized by application of vitamin serums and powerful hydrators to optimize the results.

How can I book the ScarLet treatment?

You should call EMC call center to arrange a consultation with one of our dermatologists. During the consultation the doctor will assess suitability of your skin for the treatment and discuss before and after-care. ScarLet is done exclusively by doctors specialized in this treatment.
